MAC brushes (187, 188, 168, 109, 217, 208, 214, 219, 231, 224)

168

This brush is made of goat hair. It's soft and firm enough. I think this brush is a bit too big for contouring even though it's originally made for contouring. I personally use this brush when I apply blushes with bad color pay off. This brush definitely helps dispersing more color onto your cheeks.

187

This is the famous duo fiber brush. White bristles are synthetic, black bristles are goat hair. This brush works well all with liquid, cream, powder products. When you apply foundation with this brush, it absorbs less product compared to other foundation brushes. Using this brush a stippling motion, gives your foundation better coverage.

This brush gives sheer color when you apply either bronzer or blush. If you want to give natural bronzed look or wanna sheer out your blush because the color's too strong, this brush definitely helps giving natural look. I liked using this brush with dior powder foundation. Using this brush a rolling motion, covers pores really well and powder foundation can still look natural on your skin without looking cakey.

188

Same material, same shape, just different size compared to 187. This brush is obviously smaller. I don't recommend this brush for foundation because that's gonna take forever.

I think this brush is good for blush, highlighter. I personally use this brush with mineralized skinfinish in Soft and Gentle. This brush disperses shimmer evenly, so you get beautiful glow on your skin. It takes away color from your highlighter, just leaves beautiful sheen.

109

It's made of goat hair. It has round shape. Bristles are quite dense. The brush feels pretty scratchy to me. Not soft. I think it's a good size for contouring. I don't use this brush. This brush doesn't stop shedding. It's not just me who find it shedding. I've read many reviews of others who faced the same problem. I don't recommend this brush.

217

One of the most famous, popular eye brushes in the market. It's made of goat hair. This brush feels really soft. I love 217. I have three of them.

If typical shader brush and blending brush had a child, the child would look like 217. You can use flat side of this brush to apply color on your lids. Using dense tip of this brush to blend your eyeshadows.

219

It's made of goat hair. It has a bit of roughness. Because of its pencil like shape, It's good to use under your eyebrows to highlight, on the inner corners of your eyes, under your lower eyelashes, etc.

Maintaining the tapered tip is very important to pencil shaped brushes. When I dry this brush, I make sure to give it tapered shape back with my hands.

208

Synthetic / natural blend fiber. This brush is good to fill in your brows. You can be precise with this brush because of its size, and angled shape.

224

It's a fluffy blending brush. The brush is made of goat hair. It feels a little rough on my skin. Usually eye brushes don't shed but, this brush does shed quite a bit. It does its job. However, that doesn't justify roughness and shedding problem.

231

This brush has synthetic fibers. It's small and thin. which makes it easier to apply products on small areas. I've used this brush with gel eyeliner, concealer and eyeshadows. It worked great with gel eyeliner and concealer. With eyeshadows, not so good, it doesn't give good color pay off since it's synthetic.

214

I know it's natural but don't know which hair. Bristles are short and densewhich is good for applying color on small areas. If you want smudged effet, this brush smudges your eyeshadows, eyeliners well.
It does its job but, again, it feels a bit rough on my skin.
