Who Owns Who (Cosmetic Giants' sub-brands)

There are cosmetic giants that own many brands. When you buy a product, it would be helpful to know who owns who. If some brands are inluded in one huge corporation, it's more likely for them to be made with similar formula in the same factory. When you purchase a certain product(especially when you're on a budget), you can compare price, formula and other factors among brands in the same corporation. Choose one that is affordable for you.

The L'Oréal Group

Loreal is the world's largest cosmetics and beauty company originally from France.


They have so many sub-brands including

L'Oréal Professionnel, Kérastase, Lancôme, L’Oréal Paris, Yves Saint Laurent, Giorgio Armani, Biotherm, Kiehl's, Shu Uemura, Urban Decay, Clarisonic, Vichy, La Roche Posay, Skinceuticals, Garnier, Maybelline, Essie.


Trust me, there are more, I just included ones that are familliar to me. Ones that I think are famous and popular.

The Procter & Gamble Company (also known as P&G)

P&G is an American multinational company. It's headquartered in Ohio.


P&G owns

Olay, SK-II, Wella, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Christina Aguilera, CoverGril, Doctor's Dermatologic Formula, Dolce&Gabbana, Dunhill, Escada, Gucci, Hugo Boss and more.


Again, It's not full list of their brands. I included ones that I find famous.


 

Shiseido Company, Limited

A Japanese cosmetics company which is the 4th largest in the world.  Shiseido was founded in 1872, is one of the oldest cosmetics companies.

A Korean chemical and cosmetics company established in 1945.

Estée Lauder Companies, Inc.

A company founded in 1946 which offers prestige cosmetics products, headquartered in New York City, U.S.A.

Kaigan Bell Management, Ltd(New name of Kanebo, Ltd.) 

Kanebo, Ltd. had been a Japanese cosmetics manufacturer, established in 1887, until 2007. Kanebo, Ltd. dissolved and changed to Kaigan Bell Mangement,Ltd.

Amway

Amway is an American multinational Direct-Selling company that is owned by Alticor which is a privately held corporation that is owned and run by members of the DeVos and Van Andel families.

Amway's beauty brands include

Artistry, Beautycycle, Time Defiance, Artistry Essentials, Pure White, Satinique, Tolsom, Body Series, Moiskin.

Bourjois

Bourjois is a French cosmetics company with long history.  Alexandre Napoleon Bourjois created the world's first powder blush in 1863.

I know they also have Chanel. I think they might have more brands. I just can't find much information about the company.
