SHISEIDO Perfect Foundation Brush

 

 

This is a SHISEIDO's perfect foundation brush. It's made of synthetic hair.
You can use this brush with liquid, cream, powder foundation.I find it works good with cream blush as well. It has white SHISEIDO logo printed on the ferrule. Unfortunately, my camera didn't catch that. The logo wears off as you use this brush, you could apply nail polish to prevent that.


SHISEIDO warns you, saying not to use this brush with waterproof foundation. I believe that's because it's hard to wash when it comes to a densely packed brush. Densely packed brushes tend to soak up more product. I don't even want to recommend this brush for cream foundation. It took me a lot of effort to clean. I mean a lot.........


Slanted top makes it easier to apply foundation on your face.  It's easier to get into crevices of your face. If you want more coverage, you could apply your foundation a stippling motion.
For sheer coverage, use with a sweeping motion. There are some brushes that feel soft when you use with a sweeping motion, but feel rough with a stippling motion. This brush feels very soft either way. I can recommend this brush to people with sensitive skin.I find it takes long time to stipple because the brush is quite small. It does give you a nice finish though.


The brush itself has quite short handle. I read an interview of the make up arist, she says she deliberately made it short, so that women can apply their make up easier, being really close to the mirror.


I don't use this brush often because it soaks up more product and it takes longer time to apply because of the size. I use this brush when I need more coverage or when I want to look good. This brush does make your foundation look beautiful.
I also recommend it for beginners because this brush doesn't leave any brush streaks. The brush can be quite versatile, it's nice to add into your collection.
