DIY magnetic empty eyeshadow palette.

I created my own version of the famous z palette. There are many tutorials on youtube. You could check out their version as well. Just to let you know, I'm not crafty at all! It is pretty easy to make as long as you figure out the dimension and stuff. :)

You could use either foamboard or cardboard type of material. Personally I used last year's desk calendar because the cover is thick enough. It feels nice to recycle as well, but I should warn you cutting them was pain in the ass. As you can see from the illustration (which I drew using photoshop....I know It's bad...sorry. I just couldn't take pictures of the mess because It was awful...) I cut two pieces of 20.5cmX12.5cm palette cover. Then you give about 1.8cm of empty space between them. If you want to make your palette a little deeper you could just give more space between them.

Use sellotape to stick those two pieces.

Use sellotape to stick magnets on it. I used neoymium magnets because they're strong enough. I used 12mm wide 2mm high magnets. I just ordered pretty much whatever size because I had no clue how strong they are. I was lucky enough, the size was perfect for the palette.

You need two (20.5cmX1.5cmX1cm) sticks. On one of them, you need to put magnets as well. So that the top and bottom of palette stick to each other. You have to measure how thick magnets are and give the stick a little dent(where you put magnets). You also need two (9.5cmX1cmX1cm) sticks.

Glue sticks to the surface.

Measure the inside and glue magnet sheets to the surface then eyeshadow pans will stick to the magnet sheets. Some of the eyeshadow pans are made of alluminium and they won't stick to the palette. What you could do is either stick magnetic sheets or stick a little bit of metal sheets on the back of your eyeshadow pans. However, I personally find them pretty hard to find in stores near me. You can use snap knife refills.  Just break the refills and stick it on the back of your eyeshadow pans. You can buy them easily from stores near you.

I bought sticky sheets that people use to decorate walls. I don't know what to call them, but I think you know what I mean. I basically used that to cover my palette and here's the result.
